Description

"The Saffron Radiance Moisturiser is built around a principle rare in modern skincare: put the most valuable ingredients in the base, not just in the headline.

The base is three Ayurvedic butters. Kokum (Garcinia Indica) grows exclusively in India's Western Ghats and has been used in classical Ayurvedic formulation for its Snigdha quality — deep, slow nourishment without heaviness. It is non-comedogenic at any concentration, making this rich formula safe for combination and normal skin alongside dry. Shea contributes vitamins A and E alongside documented barrier repair. Cocoa provides slow-release occlusive moisture that holds hydration through the day.

Into this base we add Kashmir Saffron Oil — oil-extracted, not water-extracted, to preserve the fat-soluble crocin and crocetin compounds that drive saffron's documented brightening, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory action. Himalayan Sea Buckthorn (Hippophae Rhamnoides) adds omega-7 for skin regeneration and gives the formula its natural golden tone — which we chose not to neutralise. Bakuchiol from the babchi plant delivers retinol-equivalent firmness and cellular renewal without the irritation, photosensitivity, or contraindications of retinol.

The fragrance is entirely Rosa Damascena from Pushkar, Rajasthan, true Mysore Sandalwood, and Vanilla Planifolia. Not a single synthetic molecule.

Absorbs in 60–90 seconds despite the butter-rich base. The closing step of your PRANA ritual — face, neck, décolletage."

"Visibly brighter, firmer skin in 4 weeks. 1,000+ verified customers agree."

Key Ingredients

KOKUM BUTTER :-
(Garcinia Indica) Grows only in India's Western Ghats. The Ayurvedic Snigdha butter — deep nourishment without heaviness. Non-comedogenic at any concentration. The rarest of the three butters.

KASHMIR SAFFRON OIL :-
(Crocus sativus) Oil-extracted to preserve fat-soluble crocin and crocetin. The same GI-certified Kashmir saffron as the Saffron Glow Serum — now in a moisturiser base that holds the active against the skin for hours, not seconds.

BAKUCHIOL :-
(Psoralea Corylifolia) Clinically documented retinol-equivalent. Firmness, cellular renewal, and collagen support — without retinol's irritation, photosensitivity, or pregnancy contraindications. The Ayurvedic answer to the retinol question.

HIMALAYAN SEA BUCKTHORN :-
(Hippophae Rhamnoides) The highest natural source of omega-7 fatty acids. Regenerates skin cells, repairs the barrier, and gives the formula its natural golden tone — the colour of the Himalayas in autumn.

How To Use

Your daily ritual. 4 steps.

01

Cleanse

Begin with the PRANA Rose Cleanser. Cleanse thoroughly before applying any actives.

02

Tone

Mist with Pure Rose Water Toning Mist. Allow to absorb — 20 seconds. Apply serum while skin is still slightly damp for maximum penetration.

03

Serum

Dispense 3–4 drops of the SAFFRON Glow Serum into your palm. Press — do not rub — into skin from centre outward, then upward. Give it 60 seconds.

04

Moisturize

Follow with Saffron Radiance Moisturizer to lock in the saffron actives.

What's Inside

Ingredients Ancient botanicals.

Modern science.

1

Kokum Butter

Kokum grows only along the coastal Western Ghats of India — Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, and Kerala. It is not a commodity ingredient. Kokum butter is extracted from the seed of the Garcinia Indica fruit and has a unique fatty acid profile: high in stearic and oleic acids in a ratio that allows it to penetrate the epidermis while leaving no greasy residue. Its Snigdha quality in Ayurvedic medicine — deep, nourishing, without heaviness — is the quality that makes it the anchor of this formula. Most importantly for a rich moisturiser: Kokum is non-comedogenic at any concentration. It will not block pores regardless of how much is used. This is what makes a butter-based formula viable for combination and normal skin, not just dry.

Shea Butter

Shea butter is the most clinically studied natural emollient in cosmetic formulation — and for good reason. Its fatty acid profile (oleic, stearic, palmitic, and linoleic acids) mirrors the skin's own natural lipid composition, making it exceptionally well-tolerated even on sensitised skin. Vitamins A and E are present in unrefined shea at meaningful concentrations — Vitamin A for cellular renewal, Vitamin E as a lipid-soluble antioxidant protecting the skin barrier from oxidative degradation. In the triple-butter system, Shea contributes documented barrier repair alongside Kokum's deep penetration and Cocoa's occlusive hold.

3

Cocoa Seed Butter

Cocoa butter has the highest melting point of the three butters in this formula — which is precisely why it is included. It melts on contact with skin temperature, forming a slow-release occlusive layer that holds moisture in the skin for hours after application. Where Kokum penetrates and Shea repairs, Cocoa holds — preventing transepidermal water loss (TEWL) throughout the day. Together the three butters create a complete moisture system: penetration, repair, and retention. Rich in phytosterols and polyphenols with additional antioxidant activity. The subtle natural scent of Cocoa butter grounds the formula's botanical fragrance without competing with Rosa Damascena and Sandalwood.

Kashmir Saffron Oil

The same GI-certified Kashmir saffron used in the Saffron Glow Serum — hand-harvested from the Pampore Valley at 3,500 metres — but extracted differently for the moisturiser. Oil extraction preserves the fat-soluble fractions of saffron: crocin and crocetin, the carotenoid compounds responsible for saffron's documented tyrosinase inhibition and antioxidant activity. Water-extracted saffron, used in most skincare products, loses these fat-soluble actives entirely. In a butter-based moisturiser, the oil-extracted form is correct — it integrates fully into the lipid base and is held against the skin surface for hours rather than seconds, maximising the brightening and antioxidant action across the full wear period.

Himalayan Sea Buckthorn

Sea Buckthorn is one of the most nutrient-dense botanical oils in skincare formulation. Its omega-7 (palmitoleic acid) content is exceptional — omega-7 is the fatty acid that directly supports skin cell regeneration and barrier restoration, and Sea Buckthorn is one of the only plant sources that contains it at meaningful concentration. It also carries omega-3, omega-6, vitamins C and E, beta-carotene, and over 190 bioactive compounds. The deep amber-orange colour of the oil is the source of the formula's natural golden tone — a colour we chose to keep rather than neutralise with titanium dioxide or synthetic whiteners. The colour of the moisturiser is the colour of Sea Buckthorn. It is not a dye.

Bakuchiol

Bakuchiol is the plant-derived answer to the retinol question. Extracted from the seeds of the babchi plant — Psoralea Corylifolia — it has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries and is now the subject of significant clinical research. Multiple peer-reviewed studies confirm Bakuchiol stimulates retinol-like gene expression: upregulating collagen synthesis, increasing cellular turnover, and reducing the appearance of fine lines and hyperpigmentation — without retinol's photosensitivity, irritation, barrier disruption, or pregnancy contraindications. It can be used morning and evening. It does not require gradual introduction. It is safe for all skin types including sensitive. In Ayurveda it is classified under Rasayana herbs — substances that promote longevity and tissue renewal.

Rosa Damascena Flower Oil

The essential oil fraction of Rosa damascena — distinct from the hydrosol used in the Pure Rose Water Toning Mist. Where the hydrosol carries the water-soluble actives, Rosa Damascena flower oil contains the concentrated fat-soluble aromatic compounds: geraniol, citronellol, nerol, and eugenol. Documented anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing at trace concentrations. In the moisturiser it plays a dual role: active botanical ingredient with calming, Pitta-pacifying properties, and the primary fragrance note. Sourced from the same Pushkar rose fields as the hydrosol. Not a synthetic rose accord — the scent character of the two is incomparable.

Sandalwood Oil

True Santalum album from Mysore — the same sandalwood used in the Saffron Glow Serum and the Turmeric Mask. Alpha- and beta-santalol provide documented antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and calming action. In the moisturiser, sandalwood grounds the fragrance system — providing the deep, warm base note that Rosa Damascena and Vanilla Planifolia rest on. The three-note fragrance system of Rosa Damascena (top), Sandalwood (base), and Vanilla (mid) is entirely natural. No synthetic fixatives, no synthetic accords, no synthetic fragrance of any kind.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba is technically a liquid wax ester — not an oil — and this distinction matters. Its molecular structure is the closest of any botanical to human sebum, which is why it integrates seamlessly into the skin without triggering sebum overproduction or congestion. In the Saffron Radiance Moisturiser, Jojoba plays a structural role alongside Sepiplus 400: it is the ingredient responsible for the weightless, fast-absorbing finish despite the triple-butter base. Without it, a formula this butter-rich would sit heavily on the skin. With it, absorption completes in 60–90 seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know

Is the Saffron Radiance Moisturiser right for you?

This moisturiser is designed for:

  • Dry, combination, or normal skin seeking deep hydration without heaviness
  • Those wanting brightening and Bakuchiol firmness in a single moisturiser step
  • Retinol users seeking a gentler alternative with equivalent results
  • Anyone who wants a rich moisturiser that absorbs in under 90 seconds
  • All skin types — Kokum butter is non-comedogenic at any concentration
  • Those who want zero synthetic fragrance in their routine

What makes this different from other luxury moisturisers?

Most luxury moisturisers lead with a single hero ingredient — usually hyaluronic acid or retinol — in a generic emollient base. The Saffron Radiance Moisturiser puts the most valuable ingredients in the base itself: three Ayurvedic butters (Kokum, Shea, Cocoa), each chosen for what the others cannot do, alongside Kashmir Saffron Oil extracted specifically to preserve the fat-soluble actives, Himalayan Sea Buckthorn for omega-7 regeneration, and Bakuchiol for retinol-equivalent renewal. The fragrance is three named botanicals. Nothing in this formula is decorative.

Does Bakuchiol really work like retinol?

Multiple peer-reviewed clinical studies — including a 2018 double-blind trial published in the British Journal of Dermatology — confirmed that Bakuchiol produced equivalent results to retinol for fine lines, skin firmness, and pigmentation reduction over 12 weeks, with significantly fewer side effects. Bakuchiol does not cause photosensitivity, does not require gradual introduction, and carries no pregnancy contraindications. It can be used morning and evening at full concentration from day one.

Can I use this if I already use the Saffron Glow Serum?

Yes — they are designed to be used together as a system. Apply the Saffron Glow Serum first (3–4 drops, pressed in with upward motions, 60 seconds). Then apply the Saffron Radiance Moisturiser as the closing step. The serum delivers the oil-soluble actives deep into the skin; the moisturiser's butter base seals them in and adds its own brightening, firming layer on top.

Why does the moisturiser have a golden colour?

The natural amber-gold tone comes from Himalayan Sea Buckthorn oil. It is not a dye, not a colorant, not titanium dioxide correction. We chose not to neutralise it. Sea Buckthorn's beta-carotene content gives it one of the deepest natural colours of any cosmetic oil — and that colour is evidence of the carotenoid concentration that makes it effective. On skin, it blends in immediately and leaves no tint.

Is it suitable for combination or oily skin?

Yes, with one caveat. Kokum butter — the anchor of the triple-butter base — is non-comedogenic at any concentration, which is what makes a rich formula viable for combination skin. Jojoba and Sepiplus 400 ensure the texture absorbs within 90 seconds without a greasy finish. If you have very oily skin, use a smaller amount (half a pea size) and focus on cheeks, neck, and décolletage rather than the T-zone.

What does Snigdha mean — and why does it matter?

Snigdha is a Sanskrit quality in Ayurvedic medicine meaning oily, unctuous, or nourishing in a deep, penetrating way — the opposite of Ruksha (dry, rough, depleting). A Snigdha substance does not sit on the surface; it feeds the deeper tissue layers. Kokum butter is classified as Snigdha in classical Ayurvedic texts — which is why it was chosen as the base of this formula over more common Western butters. The goal is not surface moisture. It is nourishment at the level of the Dhatu — the tissue layers.

What sutra does this product belong to?

The Saffron Radiance Moisturiser belongs to the TEJAS sutra — the Sanskrit principle of inner radiance, luminosity, and vital essence made visible. Tejas is the quality of skin that has been truly nourished from within — not highlighted, not treated, but fed. The closing step of the ritual. The seal.
